SUTTON MAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER MURDER OF LANDLADY
A man named Mohsen Saadi, aged 57, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 18 years after being found guilty of murder.
The killing happened in May of last year when Penny Kabeba, 42, known as Penny, was fatally stabbed at her home on Park Road, Cheam.
The incident occurred after Penny asked Saadi to leave the property.
Neighbors reported hearing an altercation and observed Saadi leaving the scene immediately following the attack.
Penny’s body was discovered with multiple stab wounds, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Saadi had been living at her address shortly before the attack, but Penny’s request for him to leave reportedly triggered the violence.
Police arrived at the scene after neighbors saw Saadi departing and kept him under observation until law enforcement units arrived.
Detective Sergeant Marc Gadd led the investigation, describing Saadi as a 'vile man' who engaged in 'senseless gratuitous violence.' Penny, a well-loved mother and support worker for individuals with learning disabilities, was remembered by her family as a 'kind, giving, loving, respected and wonderful person.' Saadi was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court, and her family along with the wider community expressed their grief and shock over her tragic death.
