DEWSBURY MAN CHARGED WITH RAPE IN MAJOR CHILD ABUSE CRACKDOWN
Forty-two individuals have been charged as part of a police investigation into non-recent child sexual exploitation (CSE) in West Yorkshire.The accused include 39 men and three women, most from Kirklees, who face a variety of offences.
The alleged crimes were committed against six girls between 1995 and 2015, primarily at addresses in Dewsbury and Batley.
The accused are set to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Among them, Mohammed Yakub, aged 64 from Dewsbury, is charged with rape.
Many other individuals are also charged with serious offences such as causing the prostitution of a girl under 16, living on earnings of prostitution, and multiple counts of rape and indecent assault, with some charged with false imprisonment and encouraging prostitution.
These charges are linked to their involvement in child sexual exploitation and abuse, with some offences dating back over two decades.
The investigation highlights the scale and seriousness of the crimes, and the court proceedings are expected to determine the outcomes for those accused.
