MOHAMMED SCHWITTERS FROM BIRMINGHAM ATTACKED IN CANADA PRISON AFTER SICK CRIMES REVEALED
In a disturbing turn of events, Mohammed Schwitters, a man originally from Birmingham, was subjected to an assault while incarcerated in a Canadian prison.The attack occurred after fellow inmates uncovered the heinous crimes he had committed, leading to a violent confrontation behind bars.
Schwitters, who was born in Small Heath, Birmingham, became the focus of a lengthy police investigation following allegations of child sexual abuse.
In July 2017, he was arrested after a young victim reported that he had sexually assaulted her over a period of seven years.
The gravity of the accusations prompted authorities to take swift action, and Schwitters was detained pending further investigation.
Initially, he was released under investigation, but shortly thereafter, he made the decision to flee the United Kingdom.
Schwitters traveled to Canada, where he sought refuge in Toronto.
His departure sparked a three-year manhunt by West Midlands Police, who worked tirelessly to locate him.
The authorities managed to track his movements through his mobile phone and bank accounts, which he used at a mechanic’s workshop in Toronto.
After extensive efforts, law enforcement officials succeeded in extraditing Schwitters back to the UK in August 2021.
Once returned, he faced a series of serious charges, including multiple counts of child sexual assault, attempted rape, and assault by penetration.
His case was brought before Birmingham Crown Court, where he ultimately pleaded guilty to ten separate offences.
On March 4, 2022, Schwitters was sentenced to 18 years in prison for his crimes.
During the proceedings, his defense lawyer, Graeme Logan, acknowledged that Schwitters had been attacked while in custody in Canada, a detail that underscores the dangerous and volatile environment he was subjected to behind bars.
