BLACKBURN MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER AND THREATENING TO KILL
A 33-year-old man named Mohammed Naeem assaulted his former partner after pulling up alongside her in his car.
He hit her on the head and then punched her in the stomach.
During the attack, he also reportedly told her, “I’m going to kill you and run off to Pakistan.” Naeem, who resides on Spring Road, Birmingham, was convicted following a trial of assaulting Shabreen Taj.
His sentence includes eight weeks in prison, which was suspended for 12 months, community supervision for the same period, a requirement to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, and an order to pay £100 in compensation along with £85 in court costs.
Prosecutor Charlotte Crane stated that Miss Taj was going about her business in Blackburn when Naeem pulled up next to her and exited his vehicle.
An exchange of words ensued before he struck her twice on the head.
He continued to verbally abuse her and then hit her in the stomach, leading her to secure a non-molestation order from the County Court against him.
