MAN WHO RAPED 17-YEAR-OLD GIRL IS JAILED FOR TEN YEARS
In Stratford, a man was sentenced to ten years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.
The assault took place in 2024 when the victim was in the bathroom at a friend's gathering.
During this time, Mohammad Tawfiqi, aged 22 and also at the event, entered the bathroom forcefully, locked the door, and attacked her.
A witness from Hereford identified Tawfiqi, an Iranian national living in Stratford, leading to his arrest at his job site.
During the arrest, Tawfiqi attempted to use a false name and afterward submitted a pre-arranged statement denying involvement.
The bravery of the victim helped establish a strong case, resulting in his conviction.
On 19 March, during a sentencing hearing at Warwick Crown Court, Tawfiqi received a ten-year jail term for the crime.
