RAPIST ATTACKED GIRL, 14, AT LAKESIDE STATION BEFORE FLEEING ON TRAIN
A man responsible for grooming a girl online and later raping her at an Essex train station six years ago has been sentenced to prison following an investigation by the British Transport Police. The conviction was secured after the victim came forward in October 2024 to report the incident.
Marvin Ogbogbo, aged 23 and residing on Millstone Close in east London, was found guilty of one count of rape after a week-long trial at Isleworth Crown Court last month.
On 6 November 2025, the same court sentenced him to four years in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and was given a restraining order prohibiting any contact with the victim.
The incident dates back to 2019 when Ogbogbo, who was 17 at the time, connected with a 14-year-old girl through social media.
After several months of online interaction, he invited her out shopping.
The two met at Lakeside shopping centre in Essex and later traveled to Chafford Hundred station so Ogbogbo could return to London.
While at the station, Ogbogbo took her to a sheltered area on the platform and pressed her to sit on his lap multiple times before assaulting her.
He then escaped the scene on a train heading to London, leaving the girl alone at the station.
It was only five years later that the victim reported the assault to police, prompting a detailed investigation.
Authorities quickly identified Ogbogbo.
He was arrested at Barking police station on 23 December 2024, where he was already required to attend weekly meetings as part of bail conditions related to an unrelated case.
During questioning, Ogbogbo denied the assault and claimed to detectives that he only shared a kiss with the girl at the Essex railway station in 2019.
