MAN JAILED FOR SADISTIC ATTACK ON PARTNER
A man named Mitchell Lock, aged 32, of Neachley Lane, Shifnal, has been sentenced to a total of two years and 10 months in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges.Lock admitted to two counts of common assault, attempted arson, and non-fatal strangulation.
His crimes were committed between March 1, 2023, and March 31, 2023, and on June 23, 2023.
He has been in custody following these crimes.
His guilty pleas delayed the trial proceedings.
Court proceedings at Shrewsbury Crown Court revealed that Lock had committed a series of offences against his former partner, including an incident on March 23 where the victim sustained bruising.
More severely, on June 23, Lock engaged in a 'sadistic and protracted violent attack' involving the 'humiliation and torture' of his partner.
This included pinning her to a bed, tying her hands, inserting a card into her mouth, squeezing her throat, and lighting fires in the bedroom.
The judge, Laura Hobson, described these events as 'sadistic,' highlighting the 'protracted use of violence, humiliation and torture.' She stated that the strangulation posed risks of brain damage or death and that Lock had 'terrorised' his victim by lighting fires.
