FELIXSTOWE: THREE GUILTY OF TEEN GANG RAPE
Three men, including 31-year-old Mindaugas Mickevicius from Holland Road, Felixstowe, were found guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl at an address on Holland Road in Felixstowe during New Year’s Day in 2010.The court convicted him alongside Arturas Bagdziunas, aged 29, who lives on Leeward Court, Felixstowe, and Aivaras Urbonas, aged 26, of Beach Road West, Felixstowe.
Detective Sergeant Tamlyn Burgess described the assault as 'a heinous attack on a teenage girl who has been left traumatised by her experience.' The jury was unable to reach a decision regarding a fourth defendant, Edgaras Sliburis.
The case underscores that such crimes—where the offender and victim are strangers—are uncommon in Suffolk, and the behavior of the accused was characterized as ‘sickening.’ The conviction demonstrates the seriousness with which Suffolk Police respond to these allegations, offering some reassurance to the victim and the community.
