A jealous Ipswich man named Leon Bolsover, aged 39, who was staying at the Premier Inn in Felixstowe, was involved in a violent assault on his partner.According to Ipswich Crown Court, he took her phone and accused her of being unfaithful.
During the incident, he punched her in the face and repeatedly slapped her, causing her nose to bleed, along with bruising and swelling.
She managed to escape the room and called for help, with a couple in a nearby room coming to her aid and hotel staff contacting the police.
When confronted, Bolsover claimed, “She’s cheated on me.
She deserved it.” Bolsover has a long criminal history, with 102 past convictions including offenses of dishonesty, driving, harassment, obstructing police, assault causing actual bodily harm, and robbery.
He admitted to assaulting his partner on January 25 of the year, for which he was sentenced to 18 months in jail.
The judge described the attack as “vicious and savage,” noting the victim was vulnerable.
Prior to the assault, Bolsover had pleaded guilty to sending a malicious communication and threatening to destroy property, relating to threats to firebomb a former partner's address, for which he was on bail at the time of the attack.
