In the first case, Michael Szatan, aged 21 at the time, was sentenced to 60 days in custody after admitting to having unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of consent.
The case was heard at Arbroath Sheriff Court and was reported contemporaneously in the local press.
Two years later, the same individual appeared again before Arbroath Sheriff Court.
On this occasion, aged 23, he was convicted after trial of assaulting a baby by biting.
The court ordered him to complete 160 hours of community service in relation to that offence.
Both matters were heard in open court and were reported in local newspapers at the time.
The reports form part of the historical public record.
