2012: DUDLEY SEX ATTACKER JAILED FOR BREACHING COURT ORDER
A DUDLEY sex attacker has been jailed for breaching a sexual offenders protection order by being in regular contact with young children.Michael Reece was given a nine-year jail term in 2003 on 11 charges of sexual abuse involving rape and indecent assault and was released on licence in 2009.
But he was recalled to prison to complete his sentence after police officers were told he had been visiting a family who had a young child.
Reece was then allowed his freedom again in May last year but began a relationship with a woman and young children were frequent visitors to her home.
The 56-year-old had been made subject of the protection order and told he must register as a sex offender but failed to notify the authorities of what was going on and he was arrested again, said Miss Alka Brigue prosecuting.
Reece of Dudley Road admitted breaching the two orders and was told by Judge Michael Dudley he should have known it was his duty to keep police in the picture.
Mr David Bratt defending said when Reece began the relationship with the woman he had not done it to get involved with the children coming to the house.
"He was simply looking for security and stability," he told Wolverhampton Crown Court.
"He does accept he never told her the full extent of his offending history."
