MAN CONVICTED AFTER CHILDREN FORCED THROUGH TWO-YEAR COURT ORDEAL
A man has been convicted of a serious sexual offence following a trial at Sheriff Court House Chambers Street — bringing an end to a case that has left lasting impact on young victims.Michael Alexander Davidson was found guilty of coercing individuals into being present during sexual activity — a conviction that now places him firmly on the Sex Offenders Register.
The case did not come lightly.
According to a statement from a family member, the trial process stretched over two years, with repeated court appearances that forced young victims to relive what happened.
At just 13 years old, the boys were made to sit in front of defence lawyers — an experience described as something they will “remember forever.” Perhaps most concerning is how close this offender was to the community.
He was described as someone who had been collecting money at local events, including parades and galadays — placing him in direct contact with the public and children.
While the conviction brings accountability, it comes after years of emotional strain for those involved.
Following the guilty verdict, Davidson will now be monitored as a Registered Sex Offender, with police responsible for managing his presence in the community.
