MAN, 72, LOCKED UP FOR TOUCHING GIRL UNDER THE AGE OF 13
A 72-year-old man has been locked up after being found guilty of sexual assault by touching of a girl under the age of 13.Melvyn Chamberlain, of Ashgate Road, Hucknall, was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday (December 19).
He also pleaded guilty to possession of an extreme pornographic image.
Jailed for three years, Chamberlain was also given a sexual harm prevention order.
He has been placed on the sexual offenders' register.
Detective Constable Daniel Akehurst, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Sexual assaults are incredibly serious offences and Nottinghamshire Police investigates all reports thoroughly.” “I’d like to commend the victim for their bravery in coming forward against Chamberlain, their bravery throughout this process has been inspiring.”
