MAN FACES SENTENCING AFTER TWO-YEAR CAMPAIGN OF ABUSE
A man accused of a sustained pattern of physical and psychological abuse is set to be sentenced on March 16 at Kirkcaldy. The disturbing case reportedly spanned nearly two years, from August 2023 to May 2025.
Court documents and witness testimony allege that the accused subjected his partner to repeated physical assaults, leaving visible bruises and injuries, including a burst nose, during incidents witnessed by multiple people.
The victim was also allegedly humiliated in public, including being thrown out of hotel rooms unclothed and locked inside.
In addition to the physical abuse, the accused is said to have cheated repeatedly, gaslit his partner, and blamed her for his violent behavior, at times threatening to take his own life.
The case went to trial on February 17, with the man pleading guilty to all charges.
However, charges related to breaking bail twice were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
Reports indicate that the accused attempted to portray his former partner as the abuser, making claims that she had physically assaulted him over a period of two years.
Mental health professionals have since confirmed that the victim required antidepressants and psychological care, and was placed under suicide watch due to the trauma endured.
The man is due to be sentenced in Kirkcaldy on March 16, bringing closure to a case that has drawn attention to the ongoing risks of domestic abuse and coercive control.
