MATTHEW WOODWARD FROM CONNAH'S QUAY LOST JOB AFTER INDECENT IMAGES DISCOVERED BY AIRBUS IN BRITAIN
In May 2012, an Airbus Broughton worker, Matthew Woodward, lost his job after an Airbus security check on his computer uncovered images of children engaged in inappropriate acts, prompting a police investigation.
During the investigation, police examined emails from Woodward, then 22, and found he had received a message from someone posing as a 13-year-old girl, seeking to exchange 'naughty pictures.' Woodward, formerly residing on Cable Street in Connah’s Quay, pleaded guilty at Mold Crown Court to 16 offences.
Judge Niclas Parry sentenced him to a three-year community order, included the requirement to participate in a sex offending treatment program.
He is also mandated to complete 120 hours of unpaid work, will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for five years, and is barred from working with children.
Prosecutor David Mainstone stated that in September 2011, Airbus conducted a security check on Woodward’s computer, which uncovered his offending.
Following this, police seized his personal laptop, where additional images of children were discovered.
Defense lawyer Andrew Green explained that Woodward’s life had ‘fallen apart’ due to his actions.
It was reported that the defendant had lost his employment and relocated to Derby following the incidents.
