DEVON MAN JAILED FOR RAPING WOMEN WHILE THEY SLEPT
A man who raped two women while they were sleeping has received a 14-year imprisonment sentence.Matthew Hall, aged 39 from Devon, confessed to two counts of rape and also faced six additional sexual offences related to one of his victims.
The assaults occurred in south Devon between 2019 and 2022, as reported in Exeter Crown Court.
Detective Constable Tia Smallridge described Hall as a dangerous sexual predator, emphasizing that his actions were solely driven by his own sexual desires without regard for the victims.
Both women expressed that they were left 'haunted' by what happened.
In addition to his prison sentence, Hall has been ordered to stay on the sex offenders register for life.
A probation officer characterized him as manipulative and predatory, posing a future risk to women.
