CARER MATTHEW FRANCIS JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT OF LEAMINGTON TEENAGER
A male care worker named Matthew Francis, aged 26, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a vulnerable teenager in 2018.The incident involved Francis driving to Leamington where he inappropriately touched the boy while they were in his car.
The assault also included Francis getting the victim in a headlock and kissing him.
Francis, originally from Halesowen near Birmingham, was arrested the day after the incident following the victim's contact with police.
The sentencing occurred at Warwick Crown Court.
Detective Constable Tristan Pettitt described the assault as a 'terrifying incident' that has long haunted the victim, who showed considerable bravery in cooperating with law enforcement.
Pettitt condemned Francis for abusing his position of trust as a carer and expressed hope that the victim found some comfort in the justice served.
