'PERSISTENT' STALKER WHO HARASSED TWO FALMOUTH WOMEN BREACHED RESTRAINING ORDER
A "PERSISTENT" stalker who broke a restraining order and harassed two women in Falmouth has been sent to crown court for sentencing.
Matthew Dean, 21, of Wellington Terrace, Falmouth pleaded guilty at Truro Magistrates' Court to harassment without violence against one woman by sending her texts and calling her repeatedly between November 28, 2021 and January 19, 2022.
Dean also pleaded guilty to harassment of another woman in Falmouth between January 10, 2022 and January 19, 2022 despite a restraining order being granted against him by South and West Devon Magistrates' Court on November 16, 2021.
A charge of stalking without fear/alarm/distress against the same woman between January 10, 2022 and January 24, 2022 at Falmouth by calling her, texting her and following her contrary to section 2A(1) and (4) of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 was withdrawn.
Dean admitted committing further offences during the operational period of a suspended sentence order by breaching a restraining order.
Magistrates remanded him in custody for sentence at Truro Crown Court on March 3 due to his "persistent" offending continuing in spite of a suspended sentence given for harassment of the woman by South and West Devon Magistrates' Court on November 16 2021.
