FALMOUTH MAN JAILED FOR CHILLING DOMESTIC ABUSE
A man can be heard shouting in rage he would "kill" his partner in a chilling recording as he subjected her to domestic abuse during her pregnancy and after the birth of their child.Brandon-Lee Chambers, who strangled his victim the day after her Caesarean section birth, ranted in the clip where he said: "One more f****** moan out of you and I swear to God I'm gonna kill you", as she is heard pleading "Why are you doing this to me?
Don't lock me in" and saying he has hurt her.
The brave victim also tells him "don't touch me, you're scaring me" and "you're scaring the baby".
From January to June 2023, Chambers subjected his partner to domestic violence including strangling her, beating her and even jamming her arm in the door so badly that she was unable to hold her newborn baby for breastfeeding.
A sentencing hearing at Truro Crown Court on Friday (January 9) heard how on one occasion when his partner was five months pregnant, Chambers put his hands around her neck as she stood in the kitchen at her home in the Redruth area of Cornwall and pushed her against the sink unit.
The day after she gave birth to her baby and as she was recuperating from the Caesarean birth, Chambers, 28, from Falmouth, lifted her by the neck and strangled her again.
Now a recording has been shared by Chambers' ex partner on the day he jammed her arm in a door, reports CornwallLive.
Chambers can be heard shouting vile abuse at his partner and threatening to kill her as she groans in pain after he jammed her arm in a door.
He shouts: "One more f*****g word.
One more." His ex partner tells him he is scaring their baby with his screaming, to which he screams back: "F*** off." Sobbing in pain, she tells him: "You go.
You hurt my f****** arm." Then he shouts: "Why.
Why have you got to moan?" She tells him to leave and to stop shouting around her baby.
She can be heard saying: "I've had enough now as well.
You hurt me.
Get out my f*****g house.
Leave me alone for the day alright?" That's when Chambers screams back: "One more f****** moan out of you and I swear to God I'm gonna kill you.
One more f*****g moan." His ex, who is sobbing and crying, can be heard saying: "I'm not actually f*****g doing anything.
Why are you doing this to me?
Don't lock me in." Chambers shouts back: "Well then f****** stop and calm down." She tells him: "You're scaring me." He replies: "Calm down and I'll leave you alone." Sounds of violence, like a loud thud, can be heard on the audio before it stops.
At last week's sentencing hearing, the court heard that during the six months in which the incidents of domestic violence occurred, Chambers bullied his partner, strangled her on several occasions and assaulted her just so he could film her reaction.
Eventually Chambers' former partner reported the violence to Devon and Cornwall Police and he was arrested.
He eventually pleaded guilty to one count of controlling and coercive behaviour, another of assault causing actual bodily harm and another one of intentional strangulation.
His Honour Judge James Adkin said Chambers' ex partner would need therapy to recover from being with him.
He said: "You have previous convictions for domestic abuse.
It's part of an entrenched history of domestic abuse.
Your victim was vulnerable.
It was a bad example of coercive behaviour." Chambers was sentenced to 36 months in prison.
He will serve half before being released on licence.
Judge Adkin also imposed a restraining order not to contact his victim for seven years or to go to a certain address in the Redruth area.
