WIDNES MAN JAILED FOR REVENGE PORN AND RELENTLESS HARASSMENT
A man named Matthew Clark, aged 40 and living on Greenway Road in Widnes, has received a prison sentence following his involvement in multiple serious offenses against a woman.
His crimes began with the sharing of a sexual video or photograph of her, with malicious intent to cause her emotional distress, a behavior commonly known as revenge porn.
Over approximately 13 days, Clark harassed her through a variety of means, including numerous phone calls, text messages, visits to her home, and social media interactions.
He then carried out a second period of harassment that lasted about four weeks.
Clark had previously violated a non-molestation order issued by West Cheshire Magistrates' Court last year, which banned him from contacting or approaching the victim or being within 100 meters of her residence, as well as from contacting a second woman.
He also breached a suspended sentence that had been previously imposed for similar violations, including at least five breaches of the non-molestation orders and the failure to provide a breath sample.
Court documents revealed that Clark, also known as Matthew Woods, engaged in persistent communication with the victim, visited her home, and used social media to carry out his harassment.
On November 2, Clark was sentenced at North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court to 64 weeks in prison, roughly one year and three months, which he is to serve immediately.
