MATTHEW BRICE – SOUTHAMPTON MAN TO FACE COURT AFTER CHILD ONLINE SAFETY TEAM UK STING
A Southampton man, Matthew Brice, is set to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 27 October 2025 following a sting operation by the Child Online Safety Team UK, a well-known paedophile hunter organisation.Brice was confronted by members of the team after allegedly engaging in sexually explicit communication with a person he believed to be a child.
The evidence collected during the operation was passed to Hampshire Police, leading to his arrest and charge.
He first appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 22 September 2025, where he was granted bail on the condition that he resides and sleeps each night at a named address as directed by the court.
At the upcoming Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH), Brice will be required to enter a plea.
If he pleads guilty, sentencing will be scheduled for a later date.
If he pleads not guilty, the case will proceed to a full trial.
