MATEUSZ WALAS FINED AFTER COMMITTING AN OFFENCE OF DOMESTIC ABUSE

HADDINGTON resident Mateusz Walas has been fined after he admitted committing an offence of domestic abuse.

Walas behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by acting in a disorderly manner towards a former partner when he took possession of an electronic device and damaged it by throwing it to the ground.

Walas, 34, denied an offence of assaulting the woman at his home at Tandberg Way and prosecutors agreed to drop the charge when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.

The offence he pleaded guilty to was prosecuted under Section 1 of the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm (Scotland) Act 2016.

Walas, currently living in Edinburgh, was sentenced to pay a total fine of £320 to mark the offence.
