HARTLEPOOL AND STOCKTON PERVERT MARTIN LOWTHER SPARED PRISON AFTER CHILD RAPE VIDEO SCANDAL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Hartlepool and Stockton, Martin Lowther, a 32-year-old man, was found in possession of a significant number of indecent images depicting children, including a horrifying video of a young child being raped.The incident came to light when Lowther was caught with a total of 81 illicit images and videos on his mobile device, which included some of the most severe forms of child abuse.
Among these, 27 were classified as Category A, representing the most serious and disturbing content, including the video of the young child being raped.
Additionally, there were 10 images and videos categorized as Category B, and 44 as Category C, indicating a range of exploitative material of varying severity.
The discovery prompted immediate legal action against Lowther, who was subsequently charged with three counts of making indecent images of children.
Lowther, who resides on Hartington Road in Stockton, admitted guilt to the charges during a hearing at the magistrates court.
The offences were committed between March and April of the previous year, within the Hartlepool area.
Following his plea, the case was transferred to Teesside Crown Court for sentencing, where a more comprehensive judgment was delivered.
During the court proceedings, it was noted that Lowther had no previous criminal record and was considered to be of good character prior to this incident.
Despite the severity of the material found on his device, the court decided to impose a relatively lenient sentence.
Lowther was sentenced to 12 months in prison, but this was suspended for 18 months, meaning he will not serve time unless he commits another offence within that period.
Furthermore, Lowther was placed under a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for ten years, restricting his activities and contact to prevent any future harm.
He is also required to complete up to 30 days of probation-rehabilitation activities, aimed at addressing his behavior and reducing the risk of reoffending.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about child exploitation and the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts in the Hartlepool and Stockton areas.
