In a disturbing incident that has shocked the community and raised serious questions about conduct within law enforcement, Sergeant Martin Dunn, a member of Greater Manchester Police’s specialized operations team, was involved in a brutal assault on a young puppy. Footage of the attack surfaced publicly, revealing Dunn repeatedly punching a five-month-old springer spaniel named Frank. The video captured the moment when the puppy, having defecated inside Dunn’s residence, was subjected to a series of violent blows. Witnesses could hear the puppy crying out in pain and struggling to stand after the assault, highlighting the severity of the abuse.

The footage was played during a court hearing at Leeds Magistrates’ Court in April 2021, where Dunn’s actions were scrutinized. In the video, Dunn is heard shouting, “You little b***ard!” as he strikes the defenseless animal. His sentence included a community order requiring him to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and a five-year ban from owning or keeping any animals.
