SIMON TOWNSEND FROM MELTHAM SENTENCED FOR ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRLS IN SHOCKING CRIMES
A man identified as Simon Karl Townsend, a former Scout leader from Meltham, has been handed an additional two-year prison sentence after being convicted of abusing young girls.Townsend was already serving a three-year sentence for the abuse of a schoolgirl, but the case took a new turn when a second victim came forward earlier this year, revealing disturbing details of Townsend’s misconduct that dated back to a period before his initial sentencing.

Judge Peter Collier QC presided over the case and sentenced Townsend, who is now 33 years old, to an additional two years in prison, to be served consecutively with his existing sentence.
