WOMAN BANNED FOR 10 YEARS AFTER NEGLECTING DOG IN INVERNESS
A woman named Marlana Uppal from Ardersier, near Inverness, has been banned from keeping animals for 10 years after pleading guilty to failing to properly feed and look after a dog named Paddy.
The Scottish SPCA stated that Paddy, a Chinese crested powder puff, was not protected from suffering and disease.
The charity reported that the eight-year-old dog was severely emaciated, had overgrown nails, and its coat was badly matted and soaked in urine.
Despite the severe neglect, Paddy made a full recovery and was re-homed.
The Inverness Sheriff Court also sentenced Uppal to 12 months probation.
Senior inspector Andy Brown from SSPCA commented that Paddy was found living in 'awful conditions' and emphasized the extent of her neglect during the investigation.
