MARK WARWICK SENTENCED TO 32 MONTHS IN WHITEHAVEN FOR CHILD ABDUCTION AND SEXUAL ACTIVITY
2016 A Cumbrian man has been jailed for child sex and abduction offences.Mark Warwick, of Catherine Street, Whitehaven, was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court to 32 months in prison.
The 34-year-old had earlier admitted one count of child abduction and another of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
The court was told police, who described Warwick's behaviour as "inexcusable", found the girl naked at his home in September.
The court heard Warwick was in breach of a child abduction notice, which had been served weeks earlier after concerns regarding his contact with the girl.
Sentencing him, Judge Barbara Forrester told Warwick he would also be made the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
After the hearing, a Cumbria Police spokeswoman said: "Warwick's behaviour towards this girl was completely inappropriate and inexcusable and are pleased he has been brought before the courts to answer for his actions."
