GLASGOW MAN JAILED FOR RAPE AFTER VICTIM JUMPS FROM WINDOW TO ESCAPE
A woman in her 30s was subjected to a brutal assault by Mark Scott, 47, in her Glasgow flat.
He chased her after she tried to escape by jumping out of a window, and then dragged her back to her home where he raped her.
Scott denied tying her hands, stripping her, and forcing her onto a bed to have sex, but the jury rejected his plea and found him guilty of rape.
At the High Court in Edinburgh, Scott, of Glenloy Place, Glasgow, was sentenced to eight years in prison.
The court heard that Scott turned up at the woman’s ground floor flat uninvited, bringing Valium and whisky, and plied her with alcohol and drugs.
Scott claimed he was simply looking after her because she was drunk and that she was a willing sex partner, but the jury did not believe his story.
