LONDON TEACHER BANNED FOR SEXUAL ACTIVITY WITH PUPIL
A maths teacher has admitted kissing a female pupil on school premises and engaging in sexual activity with her in his car.Last month the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) decided to ban the 30-year-old from the profession indefinitely.
During the misconduct hearing he admitted meeting the girl in his vehicle where they engaged in sexual activity and touching.
He also admitted providing the pupil with cannabis and smoking it with her.
On another occasion he kissed her on school premises.
The pupil told staff she and Mr Migallos had had a romantic relationship with some sexual contact, which started as a teacher-pupil relationship, then they became friends, then more, and that she ‘felt he was more invested than her’.
Mr Migallos justified the relationship by believing he was helping her with issues she was having.
A message from Mr Migallos shown at the hearing said: 'Wtf I’m a 28 year old teacher and she’s an XX-year-old student, and she had an affair with me and seemingly an affair from me.' Other allegations admitted during the hearing include consuming cannabis, cocaine, and ketamine in his spare time, and bringing coffee laced with rum to drink during work hours.
In mitigation, Mr Migallos stated that he tries to learn from his mistakes and hopes to stop doing 'such idiotic things.' TRA decision maker David Oakley stated: 'The panel found serious sexual misconduct that was sexually motivated, and that Mr Migallos had used his professional position to develop that relationship.
The panel also found that Mr Migallos had neglected to take steps to safeguard Pupil A when she was at risk of harm.' It was decided that Mr Migallos should be permanently banned from teaching in the UK.
