MARK MANKEE FROM CAMBORNE BREACHES SEXUAL RISK ORDER IN TRURO COURT
In July 2019, a serious legal incident unfolded involving Mark Mankee, a 41-year-old resident of Hughville Street in Camborne. Mankee appeared before Truro Court to face charges related to his breach of a previously issued sexual offences risk order. The court proceedings revealed that Mankee had violated the terms of this order on July 24, when he engaged in communication with a child under the age of 16, despite being explicitly prohibited from doing so by the sexual risk order established in February of the same year.During the hearing, Mankee pleaded guilty to the breach, acknowledging his violation of the court-mandated restrictions. As a consequence, the court sentenced him to a community order, requiring him to complete 120 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. Additionally, he was ordered to pay a total of £175, which included £90 directed to a fund supporting crime victims and £85 in prosecution costs.
Furthermore, the court approved an application for a sexual harm prevention order, aimed at further restricting Mankee’s interactions and ensuring public safety. As part of his ongoing legal obligations, Mankee is also mandated to register with the police under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for a period of seven years, reflecting the seriousness of his breach and the potential risk he poses.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts of the justice system to enforce protective orders and safeguard vulnerable individuals from potential harm, especially in cases involving sexual offences and breaches of court-imposed restrictions.
