MARK LEWIS FROM PARR SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABDUCTION AND SEXUAL ASSAULT IN LIVERPOOL

In August 2017, the NSPCC publicly expressed its support for the recent sentencing of a dangerous sex offender who was found guilty of multiple heinous crimes involving children. The individual in question, Mark Lewis, aged 58 and residing at Gaskell Court in Parr, was handed down a prison sentence exceeding three and a half years after being convicted on several serious charges at Liverpool Crown Court.

Lewis faced a total of five charges related to the abuse and abduction of young girls. These included a count of sexual assault against a girl, two counts of unlawfully taking a child to prevent lawful control, and two counts of inducing a child under the age of 13 to watch a sexual act. The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about his actions, which spanned over a decade.

Most recently, in May of the same year, Lewis targeted two young girls aged eight and seven. During this incident, he engaged in manipulative behavior by purchasing crisps and alcohol for the children, then luring the older girl, who was playing on a swing, into allowing him to touch her sexually. The assault was carried out despite the children's young ages and the apparent intent to exploit their innocence.

Furthermore, the court outlined that Lewis's criminal conduct was not limited to the recent offenses. Historical charges dating back to 2004 were also presented, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior over many years. These past offences, combined with the recent convictions, underscore the severity of his crimes and the danger he posed to the community.

The sentencing marks a significant step in addressing the harm caused by Lewis and serves as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children from predators. The NSPCC continues to advocate for justice and increased protective measures to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
