ANTHONY WHITEHEAD SENTENCED IN PARR FOR CHILD INDECENCY OFFENSES

In February 2021, a man from Parr was formally sentenced after admitting to the creation of an indecent image involving a child.

Anthony Whitehead, residing on Tickle Avenue in Parr, appeared before the magistrates' courts in Liverpool, Knowsley, and St Helens, where he entered a guilty plea to the charges against him.

The offence was committed on March 11 of the previous year, and Whitehead’s acknowledgment of guilt played a significant role in the sentencing process.

The court found it appropriate to impose a community order on him, which includes a requirement to participate in up to 30 days of rehabilitation activities aimed at addressing his conduct.

Additionally, Whitehead is mandated to complete 160 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months, reflecting the seriousness of his actions.

As part of the court’s ruling, a restraining order was issued to prevent any contact or harassment related to the case.

He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £90 and cover £85 in legal costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

One of the more significant aspects of the sentence involved a court order under Section 143 of the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000.

This order deprives Whitehead of his rights to use a Samsung mobile device, as the indecent image was accessed and stored on that device.

The court’s decision underscores the importance of restricting access to such material and preventing further offenses.

Furthermore, Whitehead is required to register with the police under the provisions of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for a period of five years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and oversight.

His guilty plea was taken into account during sentencing, reflecting his cooperation with the legal process and the court’s assessment of his culpability.
