A man accused of domestic abuse and animal cruelty appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court.Mark Kerr, aged 33, pleaded not guilty to charges that include engaging in a course of conduct abusive to his partner or ex-partner, and causing unnecessary suffering to a dog.
The allegations detail Kerr's behavior between September 2021 and November 2023 at various locations including Ayr, Prestwick, Tenerife, and Disneyland Paris.
The Crown states that Kerr pushed the woman onto her bicycle, causing her to fall, and made threats to harm her, her friends, and family, as well as himself.
He is also accused of damaging her vehicle, shouting, swearing, and acting aggressively—such as punching an elevator door, locking a hotel room door, and seizing her by the neck.
Additionally, Kerr allegedly took possession of a knife, threatened to harm himself, damaged property, and striking the woman.
The court papers also state that Kerr headbutted the woman and made derogatory remarks, and that he caused injury to a dog by pushing and punching it at his home.
Kerr, represented by solicitor Tony Currie, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He is scheduled to face the court again at a later date.
