A man aged 37 has been jailed for attacking his former partner in the street after hiding in a garden.
At the time of the assault, he was under a restraining order, which had been issued four years earlier following a deliberate act of arson on her front door.
Mark Harrison, from Wrexham but residing on City Road, Chester, appeared before Mold Crown Court to face sentencing on Thursday, August 22nd.
He admitted to breaching a restraining order and to causing actual bodily harm through assault during a previous hearing.
The court sentenced him to two years and three months in prison and imposed a decade-long restraining order to protect the victim and her children.
The incident occurred on June 7th after Harrison dropped his children at a relative’s address, then was asked to leave when she was meeting with a friend.
He sent her sarcastic messages, which she shared with her friend.
He asked to meet her friend and threatened her with violence if she refused.
While walking home, he suddenly appeared from a garden, pushed her to the ground, and assaulted her with kicks and punches.
He then ran away, but later returned and punched her in the face before fleeing the scene once again.
