Mark Golds, aged 46 and a resident of Copshall Close in Harlow, was convicted by a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court of the murder of Claire Parrish, a mother of four, in July.
During the trial, it was revealed that Golds killed Ms Parrish shortly after she told him she wanted to end their relationship.
She cited his violent and controlling behavior, which involved both verbal and physical abuse over an extended period, as the reason for her decision.
Despite her claims of abuse, there had been no prior police reports related to domestic violence.
Golds had previously admitted to manslaughter but was ultimately found guilty of murder.
The case drew attention to the tragic outcomes of domestic abuse, with Ms Parrish’s family describing Golds as a 'monster.' He is now awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for Wednesday.
