MALCOLM MACDONALD SENTENCED IN INVERNESS FOR VIOLET CRIMES AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN
A man identified as Malcolm Macdonald has been sentenced to two years and nine months in prison following a series of violent assaults that took place in Inverness and Dingwall.
The 47-year-old was convicted of multiple charges related to attacks on two women and a young boy, with the incidents spanning over two decades from 1988 to 2008.
Macdonald's violent actions included physically assaulting a young boy with a shinty stick, a traditional Scottish sporting implement, and in another disturbing incident, forcing the child's head into a sink filled with water.
These acts of cruelty were part of a broader pattern of aggressive behavior that also involved kicking and punching two women.
The severity of his actions was underscored by the jury's findings, which led to his conviction on five counts of assault committed in the towns of Inverness and Dingwall.
The case was heard at the High Court in Edinburgh, where Judge Lord Boyd of Duncansby addressed Macdonald directly.
