MAN JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS FOR RAPING GIRL AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTING ANOTHER
A convicted paedophile, deemed to be dangerous, has been sentenced after a seven-year period in which he raped and sexually assaulted two young girls.
Malcolm Lamont, 34, preyed on victims aged as young as 2 and up to 12.
His crimes involved exposing the children to pornography and performing sexual acts, including raping the older girl.
Presiding Judge Fiona Tait expressed that these attacks were of significant severity and would have had a considerable emotional impact on the victims.
The offences occurred between 2008 and 2015 in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire.
Lamont, who was formerly of Denny, Falkirk, was found guilty of six charges after a trial at the High Court in Livingston in March.
