MAJID JAVAID FROM COLLEY GATE AND NETHERTON SENTENCED FOR SEX OFFENSES IN WOLVERHAMPTON AND LYING ABOUT REGISTRATION

In a disturbing series of criminal incidents, Majid Javaid, a man with connections to Colley Gate and Netherton, has been found guilty of multiple sexual offenses and violations of sex offender registration laws.

The cases, which span over several years, highlight the ongoing threat he poses to the community and the serious legal consequences he faces.

In January 2016, Javaid was convicted at Wolverhampton Crown Court for a sexual assault that took place in Lye.

The incident involved him following a woman off a bus and subjecting her to a traumatic ordeal.

The victim, a mother from Lye, was left deeply distressed, suffering from severe psychological harm as a result of Javaid’s attack.

The court was told that this was not his first offense of this nature, as it was revealed that Javaid had previously carried out a sex attack on a woman he encountered on a bus.

Judge John Wait sentenced Javaid to four years in prison, emphasizing the danger he posed to women.

The judge also announced that upon his release, Javaid’s license would be extended by an additional four years, reflecting the court’s concern about his potential for reoffending.

The judge described the victim as vulnerable, noting that she was alone late at night after disembarking from the bus.

She had called her husband when she realized she was being followed by Javaid, but before she could reach safety, he attacked her.

The victim’s impact statement was read aloud, revealing her daily suffering from fear, anger, and frustration, with her unable to sleep due to her constant fear of further attacks.

Living near the scene of the assault only served as a painful reminder of her trauma.

Judge Wait highlighted the profound psychological damage Javaid’s actions had inflicted, stating, “She has suffered terrible psychological harm because of the attack you carried out.

This is also the second time you have carried out a sex attack on a stranger.” Javaid, who resides on Northfield Road, pleaded guilty to sexual assault.

As part of his sentence, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Prosecutor Sharonjit Bahia detailed the assault, explaining that Javaid had grabbed the woman after she boarded a bus to Lye, pushed her to the ground, and then began kissing her while simulating sexual activity and holding her throat.

After his arrest, Javaid expressed remorse, stating, “I am sorry.

I won’t do it again.” In a separate case dating back to September 2007, Javaid was involved in another serious offense.

He was convicted of failing to register himself on the sex offenders register after committing a sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl three years earlier.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court, he received a three-year community order, which required him to attend a sex offenders program and to register as a sex offender for five years.

He was also prohibited from having contact with anyone under 18 without approval from a supervising officer.

However, Javaid failed to comply with the registration requirement within the designated timeframe.

On August 31, at Halesowen Magistrates Court, he was convicted of this breach without a reasonable excuse.

Prosecutor Mark Cooper explained that Javaid was unaware of the obligation to register because he did not understand the requirements of the court order.

As a result, magistrates imposed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £70 in prosecution costs, payable at a rate of £5 per week.

It is also noteworthy that Javaid had previously been convicted of another sexual assault in October 2004 at Halesowen Magistrates Court but was later acquitted following an appeal at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

His criminal record underscores a pattern of concerning behavior, and his recent failures to adhere to legal obligations further demonstrate the ongoing risks he presents to the community in Colley Gate, Netherton, and beyond.
