MAN SENT NAKED PICTURES TO EX HOURS AFTER COURT ORDER
A man sent his ex naked pictures of himself – the day he was served with a court order banning him from contacting her.
The non-molestation order prohibited Shane Stroud from communicating with the victim but he was back in touch with her just hours later.
His solicitor said he had suffered difficulty with his behaviour since a serious car crash 11 years ago.
Stroud pleaded guilty to breaching the order when he appeared at Kirklees Magistrates' Court.
The couple were in a relationship for two years before parting ways in 2017.
There had been various domestic problems since their breakup, with police involved, said prosecutor Bill Astin.
He explained: “On May 25 she reported to police that Mr Stroud had been contacting her, sending her messages.
“He was sending her images of himself naked.
“They were not threatening, he was asking them to get back together.” The non-molestation order, which has now expired, banned Stroud from contacting his ex, going within 100 metres of her Brockholes address, and from intimidating, harassing or pestering her or encouraging others to do so.
Rachel Smith, mitigation, explained that her client suffered a permanent brain injury in a road traffic collision in 2008, which left him with difficulty thinking and emotional outbursts.
Stroud, of Coppice Drive in Netherton, also had issues with alcohol and drugs in the past.
Miss Smith said: “The day he was served with the non-molestation order, hours afterwards he became upset and took out this frustration by sending these messages.” Magistrates imposed a nine-month community order with 15 rehabilitation activity days to help Stroud with his mental health and other problems.
He is also required to pay £120 court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
