A man from Netherton has been sentenced to prison on Monday, 11 August, after a series of domestic incidents.
The court was informed that in April, 41-year-old Robert Twamley of Granams Croft poured a drink on a woman inside a Waterloo pub and was asked to leave by staff members.
The following day, the woman returned to her flat and found significant damage had been inflicted inside her freshly decorated residence.
Her clothing, carpets, couch, ceiling, and walls were covered in food sauces and condiments.
Additionally, two televisions had been broken, and the microwave door had been torn off.
At the time, the victim chose not to pursue criminal charges.
However, on 10 July, police responded to her flat after hearing screams and discovering Twamley assaulting her.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple offences.
During a court hearing on 12 July, Twamley admitted to two counts of common assault, criminal damage, intentional strangulation, and making threats to cause further damage.
Today, Twamley received an 18-month jail sentence and a 10-year restraining order at Liverpool Crown Court.
