2018: JAILED: SEX ATTACKER MACAULEY ALEXANDER-ROSE WIELDED HAMMER AS HE THREATENED RAPE
A SEX attacker who threatened a woman with a hammer while he groped her genitals and told her "I'm going to rape you" has been jailed.Macauley Alexander-Rose was sentenced to nine years in prison and must serve an extended six months on licence.
He appeared before judge Daniel Pearce-Higgins QC at Hereford Crown Court on Friday.
The defendant admitted controlling or coercive behaviour and sexual assault when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court in December.
He had previously been convicted of disseminating a private sexual photograph at South Worcestershire Magistrates Court on October 21.
The coercive behaviour occurred between January 1 last year and October 19 this year, and the sexual assault took place between February 1 and October 12 this year.
The victim's identity is protected by legal reasons.
Alexander-Rose hacked a woman's social media account to disseminate the sexual photo.
At the time, he lived in Worcester but now resides in Armitage, Staffordshire.
The court considered he might be dangerous due to past violence against women.
He previously received suspended sentences for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage in 2014, and a sentence for battery in 2015.
The court heard he managed to grab a hammer held to her right temple, forcibly touched her, threatened to rape her, and also strangled her, covered her mouth, punched, kicked, and verbally abused her, causing her to lose consciousness.
Judge Nicolas Cartwright adjourned the case for a probation report to assess dangerousness.
A sexual harm prevention order was also considered.
