LUKE POLAND AND HIS SHOCKING CRIMES IN WARWICKSHIRE
A man named Luke Poland, aged 27, who committed multiple disturbing offenses across Warwickshire, has been sentenced to serve time in prison for his heinous actions.Poland, of Percy Street, Stratford, was handed a 34-month prison term at Warwick Crown Court on Wednesday, 19 March.
In addition to his imprisonment, the court imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order on Poland, restricting his activities and interactions in future.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely, further emphasizing the severity of his crimes.
Poland had previously admitted guilt to a range of serious sexual offenses.
These included sexual assault, engaging in sexual activities in front of a child, exposure, voyeurism, and attempting to induce a young girl, aged 15, into sexual activity.
His criminal history paints a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior and sexual misconduct.
His criminal conduct stretches back several years.
In 2017, Poland committed a sexual assault against a 12-year-old girl at his home, marking an early instance of his harmful tendencies.
Two years later, in 2019, he created a dangerous online persona, befriending a 14-year-old girl by pretending to be younger himself.
After receiving a photograph of the girl, Poland responded with an explicit image of himself, symbolizing a troubling exploitation of trust and innocence.
His misconduct continued into 2021 when he exposed himself to a waitress at a restaurant in Stratford, shocking her as she was working.
The following year, in 2022, he attempted to lure a 15-year-old girl into his car on the streets of Coventry, showing a persistent pattern of risky and illegal behavior.
Most recently, in January of this year, Poland was involved in an incident at a shop on The Parade in Leamington.
Staff reported that a man, later identified as Poland, used his mobile phone to secretly record two young girls in the changing room, raising serious concerns about his ongoing sexual interests.
Following these reports, authorities issued a public appeal via CCTV footage, which led to Poland’s identification and subsequent arrest by police.
The investigation was carried out by Detective Constable Simon Harvey from Leamington CID, who responded to the incident involving the surveillance of children.
Detective Constable Harvey expressed his condemnation of Poland's actions, stating: “Poland has a concerning sexual interest in children and is quite willing to act on his disturbing fantasies.
He quite clearly poses a danger to young girls and deserves to be in prison.
I would like to thank the members of the public who responded to our CCTV appeal; the information they provided helped us to bring Poland to justice.” Another investigator, Detective Constable Matt Cowley, highlighted the bravery of the victims and the importance of community cooperation.
“I would like to praise the bravery of all Poland’s victims.
Their support resulted in the conviction of an offender whose predatory behaviour was clearly becoming increasingly dangerous.
Hopefully, the outcome will give other victims of sexual offences the confidence to come forward in the knowledge that they will be listened to and supported, and that police will do everything in their power to bring dangerous offenders to justice.”
