LUKE MORRISON FROM LEEK SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE AND ONLINE PAEDOPHILE MANUAL DISCOVERY

In March 2017, Luke Morrison, a resident of Cornhill Gardens in Leek, was sentenced to over seven and a half years in prison after being convicted of multiple serious offenses related to child abuse and possession of indecent material. The case, heard at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, revealed disturbing details about Morrison’s criminal activities that spanned several years and involved both physical assaults and online exploitation.

According to court proceedings, Morrison, aged 19 at the time of sentencing, had committed heinous acts against two young girls during his childhood. He pleaded guilty to two counts of raping a girl aged between four and six years old, as well as a charge of raping a girl aged five or six. The court was also informed that Morrison had sexually assaulted one of his victims when he was only 12 years old. The victims disclosed their abuse to someone at their school, which prompted police intervention.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers seized two laptops from Morrison’s home in Leek. Forensic analysis uncovered a disturbing collection of digital material, including indecent images and videos, with 69 classified in the most severe category. Additionally, police discovered that Morrison had purchased an online guide, often referred to as a ‘paedophile manual,’ which provided instructions on how to abuse children and evade detection. The court heard that Morrison had downloaded this material, which detailed methods of exploitation and concealment.

Further investigation revealed that Morrison had been actively distributing indecent images via Skype, a popular messaging platform. The images and videos found on his devices indicated a pattern of ongoing abuse and exploitation. Prosecutor Jennifer Josephs emphasized the severity of Morrison’s actions, stating that he had instructed his victims never to tell anyone about the abuse, which has had a lasting impact on their self-confidence and emotional well-being.

In his defense, Adam Watkins acknowledged the gravity of the case, describing it as “deeply troubling.” He highlighted that Morrison had previously been subjected to sexual abuse himself, which he argued had significantly influenced his behavior. The defense also pointed out that Morrison was still a child when he committed these offenses, suggesting a complex background that contributed to his actions.

Judge Paul Glenn responded to the case with a firm sentence, ordering Morrison to be detained in a Young Offender’s Institution. Additionally, he imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prohibits Morrison from having unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16. The judge expressed his condemnation of Morrison’s actions, stating, “You have turned their life upside down. Why should they have to feel guilty for what happened to them? You have contributed to the abuse of children by viewing this material.” The court’s decision underscores the seriousness of Morrison’s crimes and the ongoing impact on his victims.
