MAN KIDNAPS GIRLFRIEND AND CRASHES CAR AFTER POLICE CHASE IN TONYPANDY
A man named Logan Harding, aged 31, was involved in a serious criminal incident where he kidnapped his girlfriend outside the Pandy Inn pub in Tonypandy.
During the incident, Harding bundled the victim into his car and led police on a high-speed chase which culminated in him crashing his vehicle into a tree amidst heavy rain and on a wet road.
The victim was described as being "frightened" and "in hysterics" during the ordeal.
Harding, who had been in a relationship with the victim for seven weeks and had previous convictions including domestic assault and drug offences, pleaded guilty to kidnapping and dangerous driving.
Court proceedings revealed that Harding forcibly took the victim after a disagreement at the pub, dragging her into his car against her will, and driving off while she was still in the vehicle.
The chase ended with Harding spinning out and crashing into a tree.
Subsequently, Harding was sentenced to 41 months in prison and was disqualified from driving for three years and eight months.
The judge described the victim's ordeal as "petrifying" and emphasized the severity of Harding's actions.
