A RAPIST was jailed for five years at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday for subjecting a 28-year-old woman to a two-hour sex ordeal.
Liaquat Ali, 35, admitted that while acting with Mohammed Aslam, 37, and Mohammed Ashgar, 31, he repeatedly raped the woman in a house in Broughton Street, Edinburgh, on October 4, 1988.
The court was told Ali left Scotland after the offence and was not arrested until August this year.
Earlier this year, Ashgar admitted the same offence and was jailed for three years.
He was jailed for an additional 18 months for failing to appear at his original trial.
In 1989, Aslam was jailed for seven years after being convicted of twice raping the woman and indecently assaulting her.
