WEST BRIDGFORD PAEDOPHILE CAUGHT OUT BY UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICERS
A paedophile from West Bridgford spiralled into perverted behaviour after being led to internet chatrooms recommended to him by a fellow online gamer.Nottingham Crown Court heard how Lewis Jones asked for sexualised photographs from a young girl and boy after befriending them online.
But the children were decoys set up by undercover police officers.
When he was arrested and his phone seized, scores of sick child abuse images and videos - including a girl as young as three - were found on them.
Jones of Musters Crescent, West Bridgford, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and three counts of making indecent images of children.
He received an 18-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, with orders to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and attend 25 rehabilitation sessions.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offender register for 10 years and issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
Judge Michael Auty KC emphasized that children are society’s most precious resources, and the imagery viewed by Jones involves real children, causing revulsion among parents.
The judge commented on public sentiment, noting that many demand harsh punishments for such offences.
