SOUTHAMPTON MAN JAILED FOR SIX YEARS FOR RAPING WOMAN IN COLDEN COMMON
A 23-year-old man has been jailed for six years for the rape of a woman in Colden Common in 2021.
Lewis Dean Pearce, of Gort Crescent in Southampton, was found guilty of rape after a four-day trial at Guildford Crown Court on October 1, 2025.
The court heard how on April 25, 2021, the victim, a woman in her 20s, was staying at a friend's address when she woke to find Pearce having sex with her.
Pearce was charged with rape in February 2024.
DC Jack Droy from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary’s Criminal Investigations Department commended the victim's bravery and expressed hope for her closure.
He emphasized that targeting a sleeping woman is unacceptable and that law enforcement will continue working to bring such offenders to justice.
Pearce's actions are deemed intolerable, and he has been sentenced to six years in prison.
