LESLEY TUCKER FROM MACCLESFIELD AND NORTON SENTENCED FOR PREDATORY SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS

In a case that has shocked the local communities of Macclesfield and Norton, Leslie Tucker, a 74-year-old man, was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of multiple sexual offences involving three young girls. The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about Tucker's actions, which followed a consistent and predatory pattern.

Leslie Tucker, who resided on Mallorie Road in Norton at the time of his arrest, was found guilty by a jury of twelve members—six men and six women—after a trial at Chester Crown Court. The court heard that Tucker had engaged in sickening acts of sexual assault and indecency against victims all under the age of 16. The offences were characterized by a disturbing pattern, with Tucker targeting young girls and threatening them to silence their fears.

During the trial, it was noted that Tucker appeared in the dock with an oxygen tank connected to his nose via tubes, a detail that underscored his health issues. Despite denying the charges of sexual assault and indecent assault, the jury found him guilty on all counts. In addition to his prison sentence, Tucker was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his activities and contact with minors, and he is required to register as a sex offender indefinitely.

Prosecutor Myles Wilson emphasized the nature of the offences, stating, “It was a series of offences which followed a particular pattern. He was sexually attracted to prepubescent girls with a predilection for touching them sexually.”

One of the victims, who was a young girl at the time, bravely testified about her ordeal, saying, “I didn’t know what to do. I was scared and upset and it was always in my head. He told me if I told anyone he would get someone to come round and hurt me. I wish I’d said something sooner. I now feel protected now I’ve got it out in the open. The only way to get rid of it is to vent it out.”

Leslie Tucker, formerly residing on Cloverdale Road in Macclesfield, faced additional charges, including two counts of indecent assault, of which he was found not guilty. The jury was also unable to reach a verdict on two other charges of indecent assault involving a fourth complainant, leaving those charges unresolved. The sentencing marks a significant step in addressing the serious crimes committed by Tucker and highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable children from predatory individuals in the Macclesfield and Norton areas.
