CARE WORKER LESLEY CRAINE JAILED FOR EXPLOITATION OF DISABLED PATIENT
Lesley Craine, from Alder Lodge flats, in Orford, was sacked after admitting using a woman with learning difficulties as a sexual toy' while performing a sex act on himself. But his sentencing hearing at Warrington Crown Court heard the 56-year-old had already been convicted of sitting in a car and flashing at passing women in 1970.
He misled staff at the home into thinking the indecent exposure conviction was for a less serious set of circumstances.
He was employed at the care home in Halton for 13 years until a 43-year-old victim with cerebral palsy and learning difficulties made the complaint.
Craine was interviewed by police and admitted that the woman was very tactile and she would touch him around the genitals because of the height difference.
Craine let this escalate into moving himself around so she was unwittingly masturbating him.
He appeared in court on Friday shaking and using a walking stick.
His marriage of 33 years is over as a result of the case and his three children do not speak to him, his defence Lisa Edmunds said.
Judge Stephen Clarke told Craine: "You were using a vulnerable person and showing great disrespect for them as a person.
That person became an unwitting sexual toy." Craine was jailed for 15 months.
