LEE NARWAY SHAMES TEESIDE WITH PERVERTED PAST AND NOW RUNS KIDS' TOY SHOP

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Teeside, Lee Narroway, a former nurse with a dark history of misconduct, has resurfaced in a seemingly innocent new role as the operator of a children’s toy shop. Despite his past allegations and convictions, Narroway now manages Hunter’s Toys, a shop specializing in Star Wars merchandise, located in Teeside. His transition from a disgraced healthcare professional to a business owner has raised eyebrows among local residents and child safety advocates alike.

The controversy surrounding Narroway dates back to 2010 when he was brought before the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The allegations stemmed from his time working at the Westwood Centre, a low-security mental health facility for young people aged 12 to 18, situated at West Lane Hospital in Middlesbrough. It was during his tenure there that he engaged in highly inappropriate conduct involving a teenage patient, known only as Patient A. The incident occurred in February 2008, when the girl was admitted to the centre suffering from emotional distress and suicidal tendencies.

According to tribunal records, Narroway, then 38 years old, told the young girl to change her T-shirt in front of him, an act that was deemed highly inappropriate given her vulnerable state. He also reportedly put his hands down her trousers and exposed himself to her, allegedly stating, “I’ve risked everything for this.” The girl, who had a history of suicidal behavior and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder due to past trauma, recounted that Narroway had switched shifts to spend more time with her. He even devised a plan to have sex with her, suggesting they could go to the shower room and that if anyone entered, he could pretend she was just blowing her nose.

Further testimonies from staff, including nursing assistant Palkesh Darbar, revealed that Narroway had touched the girl’s private parts and showed her his private parts. The NMC panel found him guilty of misconduct and subsequently struck him off the professional register, effectively ending his career as a nurse. Despite this, Narroway’s name has re-emerged in the public eye through his current business activities, with his Facebook page promoting upcoming comic conventions for children, such as the event called MiniCon scheduled later this month in Peterlee, Co. Durham. The page features numerous pictures of children meeting popular sci-fi characters, yet it makes no mention of his previous criminal and professional misconduct.

His past also includes a conviction for assault in February 2009, when he fractured his then-girlfriend’s arm, resulting in a suspended prison sentence. Additionally, in 2007, he was cautioned for common assault on a woman at his home in Ingleby Barwick, where he previously served as a local councillor. The community remains concerned about the apparent lack of accountability and the potential risks posed by Narroway’s current involvement in activities aimed at children. Authorities and watchdog organizations continue to monitor his activities, especially given the serious nature of his past offenses and the fact that he now operates in a space directly involving young children and their entertainment.
